Brand Drugs
In this explanation I would like to take Viagra (generic name sildenafil citrate ) to illustrate the comparison . One day some chemists working at Pfizer's Sandwich, Kent facility (England) discover a cure for male impotence. Pfizer quickly saw the opportunity to make money and patented the product. With Patent in hand they could build and sell the substance, without any one else given them competition, so they did and sold it under the brand name of Viagra. Now what’s interesting here is as per capitalist based economy Pfizer could literally sell it for as much as people will pay ….
Generic Drugs
Again we take Viagra to get the clear picture. Some countries with the same medical problem (Erectile Dysfunction in our example) rejected the patent that apply to the drug (why would they agree to pay more solely because it bore a brand name? ). What they did is simply reproduce the medication with the same ingredients and the same recipe and but without the brand name in other words the generic version of the drug. Main difference here is there is no more marketing to do no more R&D and no more big CEO’s salary to pay, therefore the saving are passed to the end user… simple.
Is it safe?
Our medication is all produced in India by a USA FDA approved manufacture. In other words, it’s the same ingredient, in the same quantity and of the same quality, therefore you will get all the benefits AND side effect the branded one you overpay gives you.
Explain better why generic is so much cheaper!
Ok, here’s the bottom line, it cost billions for a company to research the drug, get the chemical compound tested by FDA and then for the board of FDA to approved it (which takes a few years on top of the $$$ spent ) and THEN market it so you may even know and hear about it . Once all this research and development is done and the product has been marketed, producing the medication is just 10% of what was spent. Therefore generic will cost a fraction of what brand doest and there is no way around that it.
Exactly who make your drug and how can I be sure it’s truly on par with FDA standers.
All our drugs are produced by huge publicly trade manufactures (see details of manufactures here)You may Google them or try Wikipedia you will see there are not any basement operated companies and when you get your medication just check the strip on the back and you will see that it is in fact produced by who we claim it is combine that with the actual results you will get from using it and voila now you’re a believer ☺
Also note our drugs are not only approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) but also by the Good Manufactures Practice (GMP) and World Health Organization (WHO)
Conclusion
There's no truth in the myths that generic drugs are manufactured in poorer-quality facilities or are inferior in quality to brand-name drugs. The FDA applies the same standards for all drug manufacturing facilities, and many companies manufacture both brand-name and generic drugs. In fact, the FDA estimates that 50% of generic drug production is by brand-name companies…
