What is it used for (Indication) ?
It is used in the treatment of epilepsy. It is adjunctive medication to control partial seizures. It also helps to relieve pain, neuropathic pain, migraine headaches and nerve pain caused due to herpes shingles.

How to take this medicine (Administration & Dosage) ?
- It should be taken as follows:
- First day : 300mg once daily.
- Second day : 300mg twice daily.
- From Day 3 : 300mg thrice daily.
- Maximum dose is 600 mg - 800 mg thrice daily.
- It can be taken with or without food.
- Take this at least 2 hours after taking an antacid.
- If dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. Skip the dose if it is almost the time for next dose.
- Do not stop consumption of medication without doctor's consultation.
Side effects of medicine
It may show some common side effects which include dizziness, weight gain, dry mouth, constipation, fatigue, fluid retention, nausea and vomiting.
Interaction with other medicines
It may interact with :
- Antacids containing aluminum or magnesium.
- Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug like naproxen.
- Opiate analgesic like morphine.
- Narcotic analgesic and antitussive like hydrocodone.

- If you are hypersensitive to it or any of its ingredients.
- If you are suffering from any kidney, liver or heart disease.
- If you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding.
- Avoid alcohol as it may cause drowsiness or dizziness.

Storage conditions
1. Keep away from light and moisture.
2. Store at room temperature between 15° - 30° C (59° - 86° F).
