Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) : Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is an anxiety disorder that is characterized by excessive, uncontrollable and often irrational worry about everyday things that is disproportionate to the actual source of worry.

Panic Disorder : A panic attack is a sudden, intense experience of fear coupled with an overwhelming feeling of danger, accompanied by physical symptoms of anxiety, such as a pounding heart, sweating, and rapid breathing. A person with panic disorder may have repeated panic attacks (at least several a month) and feel severe anxiety about having another attack.

Social Anxiety Disorder : Also known as social phobia, describes an intense fear of negative public scrutiny or of public embarrassment or humiliation. This fear can be specific to particular social situations (such as public speaking) or, more typically, is experienced in most (or all) social interactions. Social anxiety often manifests specific physical symptoms, including blushing, sweating, and difficulty speaking.

Obsessive–Compulsive Disorder (OCD) : It is a type of anxiety disorder primarily characterized by repetitive obsessions (distressing, persistent, and intrusive thoughts or images) and compulsions (urges to perform specific acts or rituals).

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) : It is an anxiety disorder which results from a traumatic experience. Post-traumatic stress can result from an extreme situation, such as combat, natural disaster, rape, hostage situations, more serious kinds of child abuse, or even a serious accident. It can also result from long term (chronic) exposure to a severe stressor. Common symptoms include hypervigilance, flashbacks, avoidant behaviors, anxiety, anger and depression.

1. It should be taken in dose of 50 mg once daily at bedtime.
2. If required, dose can be increased every 7 days.
3. Maximum dose is 300 mg daily in two divided doses.
4. It can be taken with or without food.
5. It should not be administered until 2 weeks after consumption of MAO inhibitors.
6. If dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. Skip the dose if it is almost the time for next dose.
7. Do not stop consumption of medication without doctor's consultation.

It may show some common side effects which include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, dry mouth, nervousness and dizziness.

It may interact with :

1. Mono-amine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) like isocarboxazid
2. Anticoagulants like warfarin
3. NSAIDs like ibuprofen
4. Anti-anxiety drugs like alprazolam
5. Anti-seizure drugs like carbamazepine
6. Antidepressants like amitriptyline
7. Beta-blockers like metoprolol, propranolol

1. If you are hypersensitive to it or any of its ingredients.
2. If you are suffering from any liver, kidney or heart disease.
3. If you are suffering from other mental disorders.
4. If you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding.
5. Avoid alcohol as it can cause dizziness.
6. Do not drive a car or operate machinery as Fluvoxamine can cause dizziness.

1. Keep away from light and moisture.
2. Store at room temperature between 15° - 30° C (59° - 86° F).
3. Keep out of the reach of children.
